Job Description: Serves as the Tire Repairer Technician performing, repairing automobile, Engineering equipment, and Light/Heavy truck/trailer tires and tubes: Examines damaged, defective, or flat tires to determine feasibility of repair and assigns workers to tasks, such as removing nails, changing tubes, installing boots, and changing tires on vehicles. May direct activities of workers engaged in repairing, relining, and adjusting vehicle brakes. This includes the full range of repairs and modification work on light wheeled equipment and vehicles tactical and non-tactical. Responsible for troubleshooting and repair work on suspensions, engines, frames, transfers, transmissions, differentials, fuel and pneumatic systems, steering mechanisms and turbo chargers. Reviews work-in progress and upon completion for correctness and conformance to standards and requirements. Makes minor adjustments in procedures and operations to accomplish work effectively and economically. Ensures that equipment and supplies are utilized properly.  Provides leadership and guidance consistent with and in support of department/corporate goals and objectives. Conducts cross training for other employees. Must travel throughout Afghanistan providing maintenance support. Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience Required: Four years DS-level experience, or five years DS-level demonstrated experience as a wheel vehicle mechanic.  May be required to obtain a military drivers license. Comparable work experience acceptable.

Skills Required: Ability to analyze and interpret US Army Technical Manuals (TM) and Technical Bulletins (TB) with relation to vehicle maintenance and repair. 

Specialized Knowledge Required: TIA (level 400) and/or OSHA Certification.  US Military School-trained: MOS 62B or 63 B/W/S.  (MOS 63/W/S preferred) . Comparable experience acceptable

Requirements: Pass background investigation, drug test, and medical exam. MUST HAVE HONORABLE DISCHARGE

Work Environment & Physical Demands: Must be able to lift 25 Lbs. continuously, 50 Lbs intermittently. Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.  Must be ableto work overhead for extended periods. Ability to perform job duties efficiently and effectively during an 84 hour work week.
