Is there on the job training? No, everyone is expected to arrive qualified for the position in which they were hired.
What are the living conditions like? You will reside on a military base with other contractors. There are tents and containers, both have AC, heat, and power.
How am I paid? You will be paid bi-weekly by direct deposit into your US Checking Account.
What is the temperature / climate like? The temperature can range from 32 -120 degrees depending on the season. Most of the year there is no rain, however there is a rainy season during winter.
Are meals provided? Yes, hot meals are provided at Dining Facilities on-base (breakfast, lunch, & dinner).
Is laundry service provided? Yes, an on-base facility provides laundry service.
Will I need my own tools? No, tools will be provided by the contractor and military.
Are uniforms provided? No, coveralls for the work site are recommended. Steel-toe boots are mandatory.
Will I have access to a computer and phone? Yes, the are facilities on-base that provide computer and phone access to keep in touch with family and friends.
Are laptop computers allowed? Yes, however you will not be able to connect them to a network for internet usage.
What about Base Assignment? Base assignment is determined by staffing requirements of the contractor and are subject to change at any time. You will be assigned to your base in Houston.
Is there opportunity for Promotion? Yes, after 90 days in-country, you can apply for posted positions within this contract.
May I extend my contract beyond a year? Yes, you may extend with approval of in country management.
What happens once I complete my contract? Your can utilize the Job Placement Assistance Program provided by the contractor. Your eligibility for JPAP is based on your Performance Evaluations through out your contract. Stateside employment is not guaranteed.
Can I apply if I am not a US citizen? Yes, if you have a current US Resident Card (Green Card) and a Passport from your home country.
